PSERC Future Grid Forum:

Technological Challenges in Designing the Future Grid

June 27-28, 2012, at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel, Washington D.C.

This Forum's objective was to identify and discuss technological challenges to designing a future electric grid that, among other things, integrates a high penetration of renewable resources. Specific challenges being addressed in the PSERC Future Grid Initiative were also presented and discussed. Each technology session began with an overview presentation that was followed by comments from invited panel members. The presentation slides (when slides were used) and panel comments are given below. The attendees also contributed their comments in a facilitated discussion; notes on those comments and on presentations without slides will be provided later.

Background white papers are available: research thrust areas and broad analysis topics
